Merry Christmas!

Christmas is here again! It's incredible how fast a year passes by! I can't believe that in two weeks' time I'm going to take stock of the year's modelling progress, I wish all railway modellers and every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As always the Nystrup Gravel Christmas card features a tree and lights, but this year a fox has sneaked in as well. The skips almost disappear in the murky background.

As usual I'm going to celebrate Christmas with my family in Denmark - a small and peaceful country. I'm blessed with manageable challenges. Not everyone is so fortunate. As usual my thoughts go out to people with little time to design model railways; humans hit by powerty, unrest or war. If you are well-off and don't usualle donate to people in need, please make an exception during this Christmas. Most people running a model railway can probably spare a small sum for a donation to a good cause.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is on its way! I wish all railway modellers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2024 has been a good year for Nystrup Gravel. Tthe little layout has moved on with decent results and two major milestones met.

The usual Christmas card from Nystrup Gravel: a tree and a train. The Baguley-Drewry loco was so large it barely fitted through openings in buildings around the Nystrup Gravel site.

As usual I'm going to celebrate Christmas with my family. This year's holidays will probably provide less time to scale modelling due to travelling. In the new year more challenges await me creating exiting features on the small layout in the large scale.  A large loco rebuild to finish and another to start and further detailing on the layout. I'm blessed with manageable challenges. Not everyone is so fortunate. As usual my thoughts go out to people with little time to design model railways; humans hit by powerty, unrest and war. If you are well-off and don't usualle donate to people in need, please make an exception during Christmas. Most people running a model railway can spare a sum for a donation to a good cause.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is coming! I wish every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2023 has been a comparatively quiet year for Nystrup Gravel. Nevertheless work on the little layout has moved on with decent results. Thanks for your comments and sharing of ideas.

Christmas is a time of traditions and as usual I have created a truely horrid Christmas card. This Christmas it is the Fowler that performs its painful and pityful duty on the card. Perhaps next year things will change...

I celebrate Christmas with my family and hopefully the holidays will also provide some time to work on the 1:1 scale vintage railway as well as a little 1:19 scale modelling. All in all a quiet and trouble-free Christmas. Not everyone is so fortunate.

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's been a comparatively productive year for Nystrup Gravel with focus on tracklaying and work on the little layout including buildings. Thanks for your comments and sharing of ideas.

Christmas is a season of tradition. This year Nystrup Gravel has produced yet another horrendous Christmas card.

As usual I will celebrate Christmas with my family. With covid out of the equation everything is back to how it used to. If the holidays will also provide time for som railway modelling remains to be seen. Hopefully a day or two can be set aside.

My thoughts go out to all those around the planet struggling to make ends meet, provide for children and basically just survive another day. This year a special greeting goes out to the people of Ukraine. I wish them victory, freedom and peace in the year to come!

Merry Christmas!

The preparations for Christmas are moving ahead almost according to plan. Before everything gets hectic and 'totally Christmassy' I want to wish every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's been a comparatively productive year for Nystrup Gravel with focus on tracklaying and work on the little layout. Thanks for your comments and sharing of ideas.

Probably the most advanced Christmas card in history from Nystrup Gravel. The cards sent out in previous years were even worse!

As usual I will celebrate Christmas with the family. If we'll manage to gather the whole group or have to accept a smaller gathering, time will tell. Even with a rising infection rate in Denmark there is apparently not an alarmingly number seriously ill or needing treatment in hospital due to the high percentage of Danes vaccinated. Consequently we live with only minimal restrictions - I hope it will last. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is here and preparations for the 24th. are intensifying here in Denmark. Just a few more days' work and it's time for more than a week off. Let me wish every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. My best wishes go out to every reader even if you don't happen to be culturally or religiously inclined to celebrate Christmas.

My second attempt to make a Christmas card. Just a fraction better than the one I made last year. At least this one sums up 2020 rather well: dark, with small bursts of light.

It is with mixed feelings I'm about to celebrate Christmas with only the closest family. As usual a bigger gathering was planned. The cause of the changed plans is unsurprisingly the corona virus that has made 2020 a miserable year for many, not least those that have had to say goodbye to loved ones. I hope this year of restrictions, travel bans, mask wearing and working from home will fade into a better and happier 2021. Merry Christmas!

Seasons' Greetings

As we are getting closer to Christmas and preparations are intensifying it is time for wishing every reader of the blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. All my best wishes go out to every reader even if you don't happen to be culturally or religiously inclined to celebrate Christmas.

At this time of year I always take time to appreciate how fortunate I am to be able to have spare time and money to play with model railways. My thoughts go out to all those around the planet struggling to make ends meet, provide for children and basically just survive another day.
My first attempt at a season's greetings image. And a miserable one.
